The Men’s 10K aims to provide a stage for men from all walks of life to come together and take control of their health. Whether you're running to lose weight, quit smoking or fundraise for charitable causes, we salute each and every guy that gets out there and makes a positive change.
The route starts at the spectacular setting of the Riverside Transport Museum, then heading east along the River Clyde and taking in scenic views across the river. Iconic buildings to look out for include the Glasgow Science Centre, The Armadillo, The SECC and the SSE Hydro and all within the first 2KM. The route then heads along Anderson Quay and over the Squiggly Bridge with views up and down the Clyde. Once across the Clyde, runners swing east and then back across the Clyde and onto Argyle Street, Buchanan Street and along the south side of George Square, by which point you are now at the halfway mark which hosts not just the water station & toilet stop but also the city-centre crowds to cheer you on.
The route continues down Saltmarket and across the Clyde for the third time and through the Gorbals at the 7km mark, before crossing back over the Clyde for the final time. Runners enter Glasgow Green and pass the People’s Palace with 2km to go. As you leave the Green and pass Glasgow Cross, you enter the last Kilometre and wind back through the city centre, past the Old Fruitmarket and zig-zag back along to George Square where cheering crowds await to help you in one last effort to cross the finish line where you’ll receive your well earned medal, water and goodybag.
