Being held between the 1st and 12th August, the Glasgow 2018 European Championships are the new multi-sport event where unforgettable moments will celebrate the highest honour in European sport!

Glasgow will partner with the magnificent Loch Lomond, renowned for its natural beauty and no stranger to hosting open water events, the outstanding Strathclyde Country Park, an iconic venue in the valley of the River Clyde, and Scotland's capital city Edinburgh as it stages its world-renowned international festival. And fresh from staging the Ryder Cup in 2014, the iconic Gleneagles venue will also be at the heart of the event.

Athletics

Glasgow and Berlin – two of Europe’s top sporting cities – have teamed up to stage the inaugural European Championships. Berlin’s Olympic Stadium will be the venue for the European Athletics Championships with the road races and race walking events held throughout this renowned sporting city.

Aquatics

The 2018 LEN European Aquatics Championships, with more than 1,000 athletes competing at three exciting venues, it’s sure to be an unforgettable spectacle.

Cycling

Four European Cycling Championships will be staged in Glasgow. Track, Road, Mountain Bike and BMX will attract 650 of Europe’s top names to the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome at the Emirates Arena, the Cathkin Braes Mountain Bike Trails, the streets of Glasgow and a new world championship and Olympic standard BMX track to be built in the city. This is the first time all four cycling championships have been staged together, so make sure you don’t miss out on the action!

Golf

Making its debut at Glasgow 2018, the new European Golf Team Championships will be staged at the Gleneagles PGA Centenary Course – the same course that hosted the 2014 Ryder Cup. The event, which will include competitions for both men and women, as well as a mixed event, is the only new championships joining the 2018 roster, and it’s set to be a sporting sensation.

Rowing

The European Rowing Championships, staged at Strathclyde Country Park in North Lanarkshire, will see over 600 athletes compete across four days of exhilarating action as they attempt to row their way to European victory. Spurred on by cheering crowds, expect impressive feats of strength as athletes battle it out in rounds of heats, repechage and semi-finals, culminating to two days of finals, with nail-biting photo finishes as the crews come into the final 500m of the race.

Triathlon

The Glasgow 2018 European Championships will bring together some of the continent’s leading sports into one must watch, must attend experience featuring three elite triathlon events. Approximately 160 triathletes will descend on Strathclyde Country Park, one of the UK’s most iconic triathlon parks and venue for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, to make their bid for European Championship glory.
