About Cinemaattic: MUJERES - Directed by Women
Sorry, but this event has been and gone!
Guerrilla film collective Cinemaattic hits once again. In February, they team up with Engender Scotland and CIMA (Asociacion de Mujeres Cineastas - The Spanish Association of Women Filmmakers) to bring a programme of first class short films all directed by women.
The programme challenges assumptions on the female view or a universal feminine way to portray reality. Women and rural life, love and friendship, brutal women and different perspectives to the so called female gaze.
Parallel events will discuss gender bias in the film industry, challenges and opportunities today for Women Directors, the range and available roles for women both in front of and behind the camera; and whether ground is being gained.
CinemaAttic specialises in pop-up film screenings, underground events and retrospectives on Spanish & Latin-American Cinema. Cinemaattic film nights rely heavily on social value, chitchat networking and people coming together for more than "just a film screening".
This film is F-rated. Films are given an F-rating if directed by women, written by women and/or present significant female characters on screen, in their own right. f-rated.org.
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Cinemaattic: MUJERES - Directed by Women are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
