Liz Lochhead was Scots Makar – the National Poet for Scotland – from 2011 to 2016, and was awarded the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry in 2015. Her reading will be accompanied by the witty, soulful saxophone of Steve Kettley.

David Cameron received the Hennessy Literary Award for Poetry in 2014, and his collection The Bright Tethers prompted Ron Butlin to call him ‘one of the most insightful and thought-provoking poets around’ (Sunday Herald Books of the Year, 2016).

Eugene Kelly was a leading member of The Vaselines, a band championed by Kurt Cobain (Nirvana covered two of their songs). Eugene recorded and toured throughout the 1990s with his new band Eugenius, and released the solo album 'Man Alive' in 2004.
