2nd October: Ship Models in Detail
Explore our ship model collection in detail. We'll look at some of our finest models to investigate how they were made and how the extraordinary level of detail was achieved.

16th October: Textile Conservation
See what is happening in the new textile conservation studio at GMRC. Find out how textiles like tapestries, carpets and embroideries are being cared for and prepared for display.

23rd October: Poisonous Creatures
Many creatures have evolved toxins to protect them from predators and to help them prey on others. See some examples in our natural history collection.

30th October: Timespan
Timespan by Tam Joseph (b.1947, Dominica) is an important painting in our collection. This tour will give an insight into this work, his painting practice and influences.

6th November: Glasgow's Conscientious Objectors
Meet some of Glasgow’s WW1 Conscientious Objectors in the paintings, sculpture, photographs and postcards in the store. Find out what motivated them, what being a CO meant and how it shaped their lives.

13th November: All about Tea
What is Tea? Explore the journey of your cup of tea. Join our Curator of East Asian Art, Dr Yupin Chung, to learn about the visual and material culture of tea.

20th November: Progression of Projectiles
Investigate our Arms and Armour collection to see how human beings have progressed from the thrown rock to firearms.

27th November: Introduction to Ship Models
Find out more about our wonderful collection of ship models, why they were made and how they were used.

4th December: What is a Fossil?
Ever wondered what fossils are and how they form? Come along to explore the variety of different types of fossils in Glasgow Museums' collection.

11th December: Ancient Egypt... in Glasgow.
The first Ancient Egyptian objects entered Glasgow Museums' collections in 1877. We will explore the history of the collection and some special objects that are not currently on display.

15th January: 110th Anniversary of Artist Hannah Frank
In celebration of Glasgow Jewish Artist Hannah Frank’s 110th anniversary, Glasgow Museums are pleased to be hosting a talk celebrating the life and work of Hannah Frank and showing the works of Hannah Frank that belong to Glasgow Museums Collection. #HannahFrank110

22nd January: Ship Models in Detail
Explore our ship model collection in detail. We'll look at some of our finest models to investigate how they were made and how the extraordinary level of detail was achieved.

29th January: Battle of George Square 1919
On 31 January 1919 the riot act was read as demonstrators filled George Square in support of a 40 hour strike. This tour looks at what happened and the people involved through paintings and artefacts in store.

5th & 19th February: LGBT Tour
To celebrate LGBT History Month, come and explore objects in the collection that reveal LGBT lives and histories.

12th February: People who donated our paintings
From the late nineteenth century, paintings currently stored at GMRC were donated to Glasgow Museums. The Donors came from all walks of life. Come along and hear some of their stories beside the paintings they donated.

26th February: Highlights of the Geology Collections
A fantastic opportunity to look behind the scenes at the range of spectacular minerals and fossils that are part of Glasgow Museums’ geology collection.
