On The Move

The Citizens Theatre will throw its doors open to the people of Glasgow on Saturday 23rd June for a behind the scenes day before the venue undergoes a landmark £19.4m redevelopment project!

On The Move

About On The Move

Come and say 'see you soon' to our building at 119 Gorbals Street as we prepare to relocate our community and education projects to Scotland Street School Museum and present our autumn shows, Cyrano de Bergerac and A Christmas Carol, at Tramway.

From 10am - 5pm we'll have events for all including behind-the-scenes backstage tours, a sale on the main stage and the chance to share your memories of the Citz.

At 10am our Learning team will be leading a walk to Scotland Street School Museum with past and present members of our community projects and drama classes. All are welcome to join us - please register your interest via the website!

Meanwhile at the Citizens Theatre our event will include a series of backstage tours, while also providing you with the chance to grab a memento in a sale of costumes and theatrical items, share your memories of the theatre and explore plans for the redeveloped building. You can also expect a few theatrical surprises along the way...!

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for On The Move are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
