‘Naturally Inspired’ Expressive Painting Workshop

About ‘Naturally Inspired’ Expressive Painting Workshop

Kilmardinny House is situated in lovely gardens with Kilmardinny Loch Nature Reserve near by and therefore perfect to be inspired by the natural surroundings!
Working between the Art Studio in Kilmardinny House and outside, weather permitting, we will use the natural environment to inspire us, connect with nature and enjoy drawing and painting in the sunshine! (Hopefully sunshine!)

Using the natural environment for inspiration and exploration we will begin with a series of simple mixed-media sketchbook drawings outside and develop these back in the studio with acrylic painting techniques, step by step exercises and prompts that will allow you to develop and expand these sketches intuitively and express yourself through mark-making, texture, and colour.

Working on paper and a primed panel board (30x30cm) simultaneously, you will build up layers of paint and mixed media to create final pieces of artwork.

In this workshop we will be using acrylic paint and mixed media drawing:- pencil, pastel, charcoal and a variety of different coloured pencils on assorted papers and 1 primed mahogany plywood panel 30cmx30cm. More boards will be available to purchase if you choose to do more.

All Materials and equipment are included.

This is an experiential, process-based workshop that will help you develop a deeper understanding and awareness of your own creative process and expand your creative vocabulary allowing more of your own unique self to be expressed through your artwork.

Tea/coffee & biscuits provided. Bring your own lunch.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for ‘Naturally Inspired’ Expressive Painting Workshop are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
