Neu Begegnung

About Neu Begegnung

Project Ability is proud to announce that we will be part of the Glasgow / Berlin European Championship cultural programme titled Festival 2018, which takes place in Glasgow in the beginning of August. The city of Glasgow will be transformed during this festival with many exciting cultural and sporting events going on in the city, and an amazing line up of art and performance!

We’ve teamed up with Alexianer St. Hedwig-Krankenhaus in Berlin to celebrate this European event. Through support from the Festival 2018 fund, we have invited four artists and two staff to come visit Glasgow during the Championships. We will be hosting an exhibition of drawings and paintings from many of the artists working at Alexanier St. Hedwig-Krankenhaus. While here the Berlin artists will be given access to work in our studios.

In addition to the exhibition we will also be inviting the public into the Project Ability studios to attend a seminar on Friday 03 August, looking at how support studios can help to empower artists with lived experience of mental ill health and help to increase confidence and skills. We will be hearing from some of the ReConnect artists working at Project Ability, as well as the studio manager from Berlin and some of the team & artists here at Project Ability. We will also be launching our newest ReConnect publication, a catalogue of artworks by artists attending the workshops.

Opening: Thursday 02 August, 6pm-8pm

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Neu Begegnung are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
