Kieron Achara - Tales from the Big Chair

About Kieron Achara - Tales from the Big Chair

2018 has proved a memorable year for Kieron having recently captained Scotland’s basketball team to the semi finals of the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games and winning his 100th cap for TeamGB. Kieron, who studied in the US, started his career at Falkirk Fury before moving abroad to Italy and Bulgaria, returning to Scotland in 2014.

A truly inspirational figure, Kieron will be speaking about the challenges he faced growing up in Stirling, his determination to succeed, his talent and passion for basketball and how sport is a real enabler for social change. He recently said: “I go to universities in America and I see kids going in and getting degrees who statistically had more chance of going to jail than going to university. That’s what sport can do and basketball can do it really well.”

The Big Chair events series invites a guest to select and discuss 6 photos which represent a life or career milestone, a personal Hero and a key piece of advice that they have received.

The intimate session at the Heroes Centre, Helensburgh, ends with an audience Q&A.

Tickets are free but must be booked in advance.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Kieron Achara - Tales from the Big Chair are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
