Encaustic art taster workshop for children 9 years + lead by Yas Art Design.
Wednesday 17th October 1-2pm. £8 per child. Grown ups stay (we'll have the kettle on!)
Encaustic art means ‘to burn’. It dates back to Ancient Greek practise in the 5th century BC. It involves using Molted beeswax melted onto a hot iron surface to create different textures and effects.
You will learn the basics of creating abstract/landscape effects and will take away up to 5 postcards. No art experience necessary! You will be working with hot encaustic irons. Maximum 6 spaces so booking is advised.
Please note, this workshop will be lead by Yas Art Design and whilst we will take every care to ensure child safety using hot irons, parents will remain responsible for their children at all times.
