Try Spin Cycle HIIT Session

About Try Spin Cycle HIIT Session

Spinning® is a studio cycling workout and is one of the most intense fitness interval sessions available, with the beauty of the rider being able to tailor the workout to their ability by adjusting their own bike. Set to music, the workouts are great fun.

Having poor fitness is linked to risk factors for many diseases such as heart disease and diabetes. Previous research has shown that people with MS have poorer fitness than those without MS. This puts people with MS at a higher risk of developing these diseases. High intensity interval training is a relatively new method of training fitness in people with MS and has shown very positive results.

Interval training means short bursts of high effort followed by short periods of low effort. In our interval training program you will spend a total 30 minutes on an exercise bike. After a warm up you will pedal hard, to your max for a set period of time then pedal lightly for a set period of time. The hard pedalling followed by light pedalling will be repeated . After this you will then have a 3 cool down. This means that over the workout you only do a total of 15 minutes+ hard work!

This method of training allows people with MS to work at higher intensities (which are better for your fitness) while avoiding overheating and fatigue as you exercise for a shorter period of time than traditional training.

This session is suitable for people who are able to get on and off a static exercise bike. We will have physio and instructor on hand to provide assistance.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Try Spin Cycle HIIT Session are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
