Ahead of Pages of the Sea, Danny Boyle’s UK-wide Armistice event, the National Theatre of Scotland would like to invite you to join them for a special workshop to find out how you and your community can be part of the single biggest event in the UK on that day.
You’ll be introduced to a specially commissioned poem by poet Laureate Carol Anne Duffy and you’ll be given support in finding a way that the words will find flight on your local beach on Armistice Day.
We’ll listen to and share stories of local heroes who fell or returned; worked the land or tended to the sick during The Great War. We’ll introduce you to ways in which you can make your mark on the beach on the day.
We will also introduce you to online tools to help you ‘say goodbye’ and help you research and add your own local WW1 heros to a national database.
We will share details of how and when to gather as a community to let go the past and focus on the future.
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Pages of the Sea Ayr Workshop are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
