Encountering Place

About Encountering Place

The artwork takes a physical site as a case study upon which to consider the relationship between our experience/s and concept of a particular subject. This short exhibition tests and presents a development of work from a previous exhibition, Encountering Objects, Encountering Place held at Assembly House, Leeds, in September 2018.
Artist Bio
David Haslam’s practice is concerned with how we encounter and perceive the world around us. His work presents and utilizes pre-existing subjects, e.g. places, objects and information with a view to studying how and why we may see these things the way we do. Recent exhibitions include: Encountering Objects, Encountering Place, Assembly House, Leeds, Artist in residence at Cromwell Park Farm, Perthshire Portrait of Anonymous, 24-Hour Window, Glasgow, and If you find errors in Schema, the Intermedia Gallery, C.C.A Glasgow.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Encountering Place are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
