Make Candle Shades in Fused Glass

Stained Glass Supplies in the East End of Glasgow hold regular workshops throughout the year, join them on February 23rd & 24th and learn how to make your own candle shades by fusing glass!

Make Candle Shades in Fused Glass

About Make Candle Shades in Fused Glass

Fused glass candle shades provide a variety of coloured light as the flame flickers and moves. These are often called handkerchief shades because of the shape the glass takes while on the mould. Bright or subtle colours can be used in making the square blank.

You will make a small group of square blanks decorated according to your own design with glass pieces and powders. On the Sunday morning, you will remove the blanks from the kiln, do any work required on the piece and set up the kiln for the drape. All the participants will then watch the drape until complete.

All tools and materials will be provided. Protective eyewear and aprons will be provided also. Wear closed toe shoes to avoid glass shards in your feet. The kiln firings are included in the price. No previous experience required. This class will be held on Sat. February 23rd from 10:00 to 16:00 and Sun. February 24th from 10:00 – 13:00

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Make Candle Shades in Fused Glass are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
