In our experimental inter-generational series of art classes, adults and young people are invited to attend art classes together to learn processes, create work, support and inspire one another and collaborate. The courses are designed at an adult teaching level with in depth skills and processes to create considered and professional pieces. Young people aged 8-16 are offered a reduced rate on the classes and are invited to take part with their parents or guardians, allowing them to participate in a more professional and focused class.
In this three day course participants will learn how to make relief prints that will be applied to fabric. Printing techniques taught will span from linocut, wood carving and collograph.
This experimental course encourages parents and carers to collaborate with their kids in artistic play and investigation. The course is designed to allow the methods employed to be replicated back at home.
Day one: Participants will be collecting design inspiration from the house and gardens and creating original print designs. They can make both a repetitive block print and larger one off print block.
Day two: The blocks will be printed on to a multitude of coloured fabrics.
Day 3: Participants will have time to work back in to their fabrics – stretching them onto canvases, making wall hangings or applying additional colour in to the designs.
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Fabric Printing with Adults and Kids (Inter-generational Series) are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
