Glasgow Short Film Festival
Glasgow Short Film Festival returns for a glorious 12th edition of boundary-crossing genre-defying new cinema between the 13th and 17th March!
About Glasgow Short Film Festival
Sorry, but this event has been and gone!
Glasgow Short Film Festival is Scotland's leading short film event, with the largest competitive showcase of new filmmaking, both Scottish and international and a host of special programmes, industry discussions and parties.
Notions of manipulation and authenticity run throughout this year’s programme, from the revisionist mash-ups of star guests Soda_Jerk, to the play between ethnography and fiction in the work of Colombian filmmaker Laura Huertas Millán; from the films emerging from the margins of the Paris banlieues to the inclusivity of First Reels, a 1990s Scottish short film scheme that cast its net wide to find and nurture a new Scottish cinema.
We welcome French Canadian filmmaker Shalimar Preuss, presenting her delicate narratives that draw magical realism from mundane reality. We dive into the world of VR with UnRealities. And Glasgow’s UNESCO City of Music artist-in-residence
Richy Carey invites us to manipulate our voices to contribute to the live scoring of Accents, a new work exploring individual and collective identity.
While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Glasgow Short Film Festival are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
