Introduction to Painting

About Introduction to Painting

M Gallery Glasgow is pleased to host a new event created by art tutor Sarah Jayne McGlashan (Van Gash Studio Gallery, Alexandria).

'An Introduction to Painting' is a 4 week workshop where you will learn colour theory and paint mixing&matching, using acrylic paint, before experimenting with creating backgrounds for landscapes.

You will create a final painting on canvas inspired by the Northern Lights, or 'Merry Dancers' as known in Scotland, while learning about our cultural identity and aurora borealis in our northern hemisphere. Your final piece will be part of an exhibition in the M Gallery to showcase your painterly skills and masterpieces produced at this debut workshop.

All materials provided. £65 per person for 4, weekly 2 hours long sessions. Limited space available. Advance booking essential. No refund policy.

The workshop is designed for children 8yo+ but younger children could take part if accompanied by an adult.

While we take every opportunity to ensure the details for Introduction to Painting are accurate, we always advise that you contact the event organiser before setting out for the event to avoid disapointment.
