Based at 20 Haymarket Terrace, we celebrate pictures in all their forms and support those who make them. Through our gallery, shop and creative events space, we want to change the landscape of photography in Scotland by making it easier for lens-based artists to show and sell their work. We stock a range of photo wares including books, zines, prints and film; host artist studios and shared facilities; and provide affordable space hire for a range of creative purposes.
Agitate is not just a shop: we are a gallery, we have workshop space available for courses, screenings and other events, and we host a shared artist studio space. Part of the motivation behind opening was to cater for the photography community in Scotland, and support artists to help make things happen.
