The Assembly Hall is located between the Lawnmarket and The Mound in Edinburgh, Scotland. It is the meeting place of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.
The Church of Scotland is delighted that the Assembly Hall can be used as a major conference and events venue.
The Assembly Hall was designed by David Bryce in 1858. One of the most significant historical events took place in 1910 when 1355 delegates were in Edinburgh for the World Missionary Conference on 14 June, the beginnings of the 'ecumenical movement'.
Since 1929 this unique building has been used by the Church of Scotland to host its General Assemblies. Most recently between 1999 and 2004 the Assembly Hall was used by the Scottish Parliament, while the new building at Holyrood was being constructed. The Assembly Hall boasts a striking multi-tiered and galleried interior and a black and white marble corridor.
The Brunton is the place to be for the best in quality music, theatre, dance, comedy, children's shows and film - all year round.
