The Glasgow Drum Circle was established in 2007. Our aim is to study and play drumming music for different cultures around the world with an accent on African Drumming.
Currently we are holding classes for djembe and dun dun [African Bass Drums] where students can learn a whole series of traditional drumming music as well as how to make the right sounds on their drum [ Bass, Tone and Slap]. To compliment the group session we have modules for each student to use as part of their individual home study.
We hold workshops every Wednesday evening in Wellington Church, next to Glasgow University on Gilmore Hill. Times are 7pm -10pm. These workshops are aimed at adult beginner and intermediate drummers.
