This year the fest will have a whopping 15 independent bars. These will include Gyspy brewer Up Front, Fallen Brew Co, Alechemy, Drygate Brewery and Gypsy Brewers Dead End Brew Machine and Gallus. Out of Town will be present for their second year with their co-founder and local Bake Off celeb James Morton. Fyne Ales will return to WEBF but this time with something a little out of the ordinary. Now in its 2nd batch of beer, the Fyne Ales Origins project celebrates the breweries status as a farmhouse brewery with a range of modern twists on traditional styles as well as a barrel aging project.
2018 will see a whole host of new additions to the line-up. One that we are incredibly excited about is Pilot brewery. Hailing from Leith, Pilot has been at the cutting edge of the Scottish craft scene since they launched in late 2013. Twisted Barrel Brewery & Taproom will join us from Coventry. Gypsy Brewers Shindigger from Manchester will share a bar with Dark Revolution that join us all the way from Salisbury. Another brewery that we are very excited about is, new to the scene Welsh brewers Loka Polly. Loka Polly have been pleasing crafty drinkers recently with their juicy, hop forward sessional IPA’s as well as an extraordinary DIPA. Another brewhouse added to the line-up this year is Glasgow based Shilling Brew Co. Shilling will certainly be at the centre of attention as they are part of a 3 way collaboration with ourselves and Up Front Brewing, to bring festival goers the first ever official WEBF brew.
Finally, 2018 will welcome the first ever distillery to the line-up. Local pro rugby players come gin distillers will be showcasing their outstanding Garden Shed Gin. Born in the Garden shed of Glasgow Warriors Ruaridh Jackson and Ryan Grant, the gin is now produced at St Andrews disillery Eden Mill.
The festival takes place at Café Source Too/ Hillhead Sports Club over three sessions which are split across Friday the 6th and Saturday the 7th of July. Times are as follows:
