World Pipe Band Championships
Thousands of pipers and drummers are expected to compete for the ultimate prize in pipe band competition when the World Pipe Band Championships return to Glasgow Green on the 16th and 17th August!
About World Pipe Band Championships
The World Pipe Band Championships are a prestigious international competition that has a long-standing association with Glasgow.
It attracts thousands of visitors and competitors to the city from across the globe as 200 bands converge on the Green annually to compete for the coveted title of World Pipe Band Champions.
The event celebrates Scottish culture and heritage, and includes Highland Dancing and the Glasgow World Highland Games Championships.
The colourful and friendly atmosphere of the event makes it a great outing for anyone, whether or not they are piping fans, and The Worlds, as its affectionately known, attracts a local audience – including families – as well as loyal attendance annually from piping and drumming enthusiasts.
