A Play, A Pie and A Pint produces new plays from Scotland, the UK and the rest of the world at Òran Mór in the West End of Glasgow. Founded by the late David MacLennan in 2004, we produce 38 new plays every year.

A Play, A Pie and A Pint produces work by many of Scotland’s best known writers and supports playwrights, directors and actors at every stage of their career.

Spring 2025 Season Announced!

This new season of 18 plays, performing from Monday 24 February – Saturday 28 June 2025 at Òran Mór, will take you all over the world, from a gothic thriller set in the Highlands to an affecting comedy at a sun-drenched Moroccan spa. You can also see many of the shows across the country at our co-presenters Ayr Gaiety, The Lemon Tree and the Traverse Theatre.

Opening the season is Dookin’ Oot, a riotous black comedy from Éimi Quinn (The Funeral Club) which tackles the topic of assisted dying with some classic Glaswegian humour, as a kind carer helps her elderly client out financially with her wish to die in Switzerland by becoming an OnlyFans star.

Other highlights this season include a meta musical-comedy from the award-winning Jonny & The Baptists, a life-affirming comedy-drama about the unlikely friendship of three men recovering from addiction, a revealing drama about Sri Lanka’s exploitative adoption trade, and the infamous Mistero Buffo, with its first Scottish production since performed by Robbie Coltrane over 30 years ago.

Closing out the season in June is a revival of The Inquisitor by prolific playwright Peter Arnott, celebrating his 40 years in Scottish theatre. This cerebral play was first staged with us in 2007 and (by Peter’s own admission!) had a few production issues, so we are pleased to be able to do it again and give it justice.
