About The Scottish Beatbox Championships

*This is event is suitable for children with an adult until 8pm.

Hello everyone! We hope you are well.

We are inviting you to attend Scotlands national vocal percussion (aka beatboxing) competition event -The Scottish Beatbox Championships, founded in 2019, is part live show, and part competition, that sees the winner of the competition earn a place at the World Beatbox Championships, in Berlin, Germany.

In the past we have welcomed the likes of the UK, French, Irish, New Zealand and World Beatbox Champions, to judge Scotlands best beatboxing talent, in a winner takes all contest, to see who becomes Scotlands best beatboxer, thus qualifying for Berlin.

We have previously held the event in Nice n Sleazy's, McChuills, but this year it will be Ivory Blacks, on the Saturday, 10th August.

Doors opening at 6PM, with the elimination round following shortly after. The night will finish at 10PM

Competition Format

Elimination Round (1 x 1min 30 second), Quarter Final, Semi Final, Final (2 x 1.30).

There will be a unique loopstation performance, from Or4nge who is the Welsh Beatbox Loopstation Champion, Scotlands previous 3 x in a row Scottish Beatbox Champion, Undefined from Edinburgh, NUE Urban Battle's Vice Champ, Top 32 in European Beatbox Championships - Suffix, and Scotlands leading vocal percussionists, staring in BBC's the Scotts, and Sky 1's Ultimate A capella, with Cat Deeley, it is none other than Bigg Taj.

The nights entertainment offers a variety of vocal and instrumental performances, like a flute + beatboxing combo.

Tickets for this event are priced at £5 - and these can be purchased by checking out the ticket section, on event page link.

We are lucky to have the involvement of our sponsor this year, which is an award winning fashion brand, for the environmentally friendly production methods - The Hemp Trading Company (THTC) who traditionally support beatboxing events, have given us some merchandise to give away to anyone who buys a ticket. The draw will be on the night of the event.

Tickets will be available on the door. We really hope to see you there.
If you haven't ever experienced a live beatboxing event, NOW is the time!

Going to this event is an excellent opportunity for anyone looking to kill some time before the clubs open, and at five pounds, that gets you to see the best beatboxing talent in the country.

All funds from ticket sales go directly to Music Broth Charity - A music instrument library, based in Govanhill, and to support beatboxing events in the future.

Come down and show your support!
