Join a leisurely free led cycle ride to visit Pollok Park, Bellahouston Park, Maxwell Park and Queens Park and back, led by trained Sustrans volunteers and done at a leisurely/social pace.
We will meet in the Burrell Collection Car Park.
Directions to Pollok Park
- By Bike: If you are leaving the centre of Glasgow to cycle to Pollok Park, we would advise you take the path by the Clyde until you reach Bell's Bridge. Cross over here and follow the blue sign with the red [7] and signs for Pollok park to follow National Cycle Network route 7. You will mainly follow traffic-free paths but there may be some quiet road sections. This will take you through Pollok Park and by the Burrell Collection car park then to meet the group. This is estimated to take about 25 minutes.
Please visit https://osmaps.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/55.82897,-4.32146,13/pin and click the layers button in the bottom-right corner and click 'National Cycle Network' to see this mapped out, and Google Maps also follows this route if you change the travel to 'By bike'
- By Train: From Glasgow Central, take the 10:27am train to Kilmarnock and get off at Pollokshaws West at 10:36am. It is then a short ~ 5min cycle through the park to the car park.
- By car: follow signs for Pollok Park. Be aware that Parking charges now apply: 10am-6pm daily, £2.50 for four hours, £4.50 all day.
Please see the Burrell Collection website for more details.
Please arrive around 15 minutes beforehand for starting at 11am.
We estimate the ride will take about 3 hours with a few breaks inbetween. Please be mindful of other route users when cycling to the starting point as well as throughout the ride. The ride leaders will take you back to the Pollok Park but you can head off earlier if needbe, please just let a member of the ride staff team know so they are aware for a headcount.
Pre-booking for this ride is essential.
