Our first property masterclass of 2025 is happening at The Village Hotel in Glasgow on the 28th of January!
If your new year's resolution is to learn more about the property industry, our Masterclass events offer you the opportunity to gain some valuable insights into a range of areas within the industry and make some brilliant connections in the Scottish property network, too!
Our guest speakers are:
> Jonathan Williams - Mortgage Broker and owner of Bricks and Mortar Mortgages
Jonathan has a background in law, having spent 25 years as a partner in three well know legal firms. He got started in Bricks and Mortar Mortgages with Begley Brown before buying their mortgage book and opening BMM. BMM are directly authorised through the FCA and offer mortgages from the full market. Their niche is BTL, and Jonathan has the legal knowledge, mortgage knowledge and personal portfolio to understand what is required from an investors point of view. At the event, Jonathan will be giving his thoughts on the market and rates in 2025, buying at the lower end of the market, and delving into BTL rates for companies and individuals.
> Shawn Wood - Director and Head of Conveyancing at Watermans
Shawn has been working for Watermans, a full service law firm and estate agency operating across Scotland with offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Dundee, since 2013. He has experience in a wide variety of legal areas including Commercial Property, Conveyancing, Wills, Power of Attorney & Executries. At the event, Shawn will be giving a brief overview of the conveyancing process in Scotland, particularly for Auction purchase & sales. He will also Discuss LBTT and ADS tax, as well as source of fund regulations that you need to know before purchasing.
> Andrew Jannetta - Property Investor
Andrew became an accidental landlord in 2013 and quickly discovered a passion for property management. After several years of managing his first rental, he decided to expand his portfolio in 2020, transitioning from a hands-on landlord to a dedicated property investor. His portfolio grew from a single property to a 7-figure portfolio within a few years while working full-time. Andrew achieved this growth by leveraging other people's money and employing a blend of strategies, including purchasing single-unit BRRRs and tenanted stock, both in individual properties and larger portfolios. At the event, he will be walking the audience through his take on buy to lets in todays property market, and then show a case study of the 8 unit portfolio he bought last year.
Following their presentations, our guest speakers will be available to network giving you the chance to quiz them on their areas of expertise. There will also be the opportunity to network with fellow attendees at the event, so you can share your troubles and triumphs in property, and ultimately learn from each other's experiences.
Our Property Masterclass event is FREE to attend, however numbers are strictly limited and spaces usually fill up fast, so make sure you reserve a ticket today to secure your place!
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
