We have a range of experienced and emerging acts starting with your MC for the evening, Graham Stewart!
Graham will be introducing local legend Kenny Sinclair to open the show, followed by newer acts Katie Tennent, Jürgen Strack, Chris Campbell, Isobahail O'calleigh-Shaw and our headliner for the evening: the awesome SCOTY 2021 runner up and UK Pun Championships 2022 winner, Richard Pulsford!
Richard is one of the best joke writers in the UK with his own shows at festivals up and down the land, including 6 full runs at the Edinburgh Fringe where he is a favourite of critics, acts and audience alike! He is author of published joke book ‘Richard Pulsford: The Punball Wizard’ (amzn.to/3HY866n) and host of the live in-venue panel show ‘It Just So Happened’ which combines comedy and history and goes out as a podcast. You can check out his joke-writing ability and comedy acumen on the daily Twitter competition #LunchPun which has over 2k followers.
"Immediately establishing himself as a safe pair of hands, reminiscent of a master like Milton Jones, his (justified) confidence in his material shone through.” - The Scotsman
"Wordplay [which] is generally at the level of decent newspaper headlines, though a fair few exceed that. You’re sure to want to try to remember some of his gags to pass off as your own later… It’s a light-hearted session that delivers exactly what’s promised: a LOT of gags." - CHORTLE
"Richard is a really funny guy!" - Gary Delaney
Doors open at 7 for the show at 8, and you'll want to be there early to grab a table for another night of stand up in Granny Gibbs. Entry is free as always, though donations are encouraged and appreciated via the bucket. Also, we will be following current Covid guidelines and ask patrons to observe reasonable health and safety measures for the protection of our staff, acts and audience alike.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
