For former Carter The Unstoppable Sex Machine singer and budget hotels enthusiast Jim Bob, it’s staying at least one night in every Travelodge in the United Kingdom. With just a handful of unvisited chain hotels left on his list, this November, the Sheriff Fatman singer is going on tour again.
Backed by his best band in the world, The Hoodrats, Jim Bob will be performing songs from his last two top 40 albums, plus favourites from his solo career, a few brand-new songs, and some pretty amazing versions of Carter USM songs. This is what Phil Perry said on the Internet about the last Jim Bob tour:
“The band are not only nailing the old carter songs to the point where it’s just as incredible as watching the USM, they are also bringing the fire to the new material.”
Phil is bang right. The last tour was insanely good. I was there myself. I cried three times, danced to an astonishing version of ‘Bloodsport for All’, and lost my voice singing ‘Touchy Feely’ while Mister Spoons fired bubbles at us.
Seriously. Make sure you put seeing JIM BOB live on your bucket list. And don’t hesitate to buy a ticket as they’re bound to sell out fast because I have a feeling Jim Bob is on his way up Everest again, with no intention of sliding back down again, tea tray or otherwise.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
