About Dinghy Sailing Open Day
Try sailing at the free open day held at Bardowie Loch (near Milngavie). Anyone can get on the water. Have a spin on a powerboat, or perhaps be shown the ropes on one of our sail boats if the weather is good. Find out about our facilities and what you can do, with coffee and cake while you chat to our experienced sailors.
We are currently running evening classes for adults and juniors (aged 8 and above), and our popular summer school is a great way to spend time during the holidays while learning a sport that the whole family can enjoy together. Classes are approved by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and Summer School is available for 6 weeks from the 1st of July.
The dinghy sailing section at Bardowie Loch has been running for over 90 years as part of the Clyde Cruising Club and has a fleet of over 70 boats. The club house opened in 2004 and provides a warm and comfortable shore base, including disabled access. Young people and adults with disabilities are encouraged to take part in the sport on equal terms with able-bodied sailors.
