Our annual Burns Supper is one of our favourite and most popular fundraising events of the year. The night brings together our diverse College community for an evening of exquisite food, fine whisky, friendship and fun.
What’s more, this year is even more special as we celebrate 425 years of the Royal College. It truly will be an evening like no other.
This event is in aid of the Hope Foundation. All proceeds raised will go towards supporting the Foundation as it strives to improve compassion in healthcare through encouraging innovation and shared learning.
Never been to a Burns Night and wondering what it is?
Burns Night is an annual celebration of Scotland’s most famous poet, Robert Burns.
He wrote more than 550 poems and songs before his death in 1796 and today is recognised as ‘Scotland’s national poet’.
The night itself marks the anniversary of Robert Burns’ birth on 25 January 1759 and the traditional Burns supper is an evening that celebrates his life and work through poems, dancing and song. We'll also be running a raffle with some amazing prizes on offer.
The Burns Supper will take place in the majestic College Hall, an atmospheric wood-panelled room dating from 1893. Designed by the renowned Scottish architect Sir J J Burnet (1857-1938) it is one of the finest examples of Victorian architecture anywhere in the city.
