Creative Connect: meet-up arts and mental health

About Creative Connect: meet-up arts and mental health

CreativeConnect is our regular meetup for those working in the Participatory Arts and Socially Engaged Practice in Glasgow to connect and mingle with one another and the Glasgow Connected Arts Network team.

Would you like to spend some time exploring how art engages with mental health? Perhaps you'd like to consider what this looks like and what it asks of performers and audiences? And also what does a participatory arts project about mental health look like?

Join us this February for an interactive, discursive event in collaboration with the Mental Health Foundation who coordinate the annual Scottish Mental Health Arts Festival. We will be joined by MHF's Arts Programme Officer Andrew Eaton Lewis and Creative Wellbeing Practitioner, Drama Therapist and associate artist of Bijli Productions, Vicky Mohieddeen.

As part of a relaxed, informal session we'll spend some time together exploring how the term 'arts and mental health' is quite broad and can vary in definition and delivery. Andrew and Vicky will share with the group some case studies they feel combine the arts and mental health in an effective way, and you will be invited to share your thoughts and contribute to the discussion should you wish.
Everyone is welcome, whether you are a seasoned creative or just at the beginning of your journey. #CreativeConnect aims to support and connect peers and is an informal event to help you build your network, share, collaborate and hear about participatory arts news, opportunities and funding over a cuppa.
