Screen print a set of unique greeting cards to send out to friends & family for various occasions!
What will happen during the workshop?
You will be introduced to the basic technique of screen printing onto paper using paper stencils, and print an initial sample to get used to the technique. You will create your own two or three colour design to print onto blank A6 cards, producing at least 10 to take home with you alongside envelopes.
I have never done screen printing before, can I come?
Of course - the workshop is suitable for all skills levels. Everyone is welcome and no previous experience is necessary.
Equipment Provided:
Equipment and materials such as screens, squeegees, a range of ink colours, newsprint paper, cutting mats and knives are all included. We will also provide 15 white or cream blank A6 cards and envelopes and expose some stock greeting messages on a screen. You are welcome to bring additional blank cards and your own reference images or drawings to use as inspiration.
Your Tutor:
Suzie is an illustrator and printmaker and works at Print Clan as the Studio Manager. After graduating from the Graphic Arts & Design course at Leeds Metropolitan University in 2015, Suzie worked as a graphic designer, before going freelance and working as a print technician and tutor at Leeds Print Workshop. She moved to Glasgow in 2018 to study a Masters in Communication Design at the Glasgow School of Art.
