She’ll be talking about her book Wahala which is set to become a major BBC TV series.

The Bookface Sip & Swap event, held at August House in Glasgow is an inspirational monthly event on a Saturday afternoon where book lovers swap titles and participate in a 45-minute Q&A with some of the UK's most noted authors.

'Wahala' means trouble and there's plenty of it in this entertaining story - a fascinating, funny and nuanced look at identity and friendship. Set against the vibrancy of London and Lagos, Wahala is a gripping and fizzing and novel featuring three 30-something women whose lives are upended by a glamorous friend from the past.

Born in Bristol and raised in Lagos, Nikki May is Anglo-Nigerian. At twenty, she dropped out of medical school, moved to London, and began a career in advertising, going on to run a successful agency. Her debut novel was inspired by a long lunch with friends.

The monthly sold-out Bookface events are an opportunity for budding authors and avid readers to pick the brains of successful authors and enjoy an uplifting afternoon with people who love great books.

Nikki joins an impressive list of authors who’ve attended the sold out Bookface events in Glasgow. Alan Parks, Susannah Constantine, Sam Baker, Doug Allan, Paul Trainer, Lisa Gray, Guy Grieve, Helen Fitzgerald, Paul English and Sophie Gravia are just some of the celebrated names who’ve taken part.

Nikki May said: “I’m so looking forward to this Bookface event in Scotland and I’m excited to chat with people who love reading and the book swap sounds fabulous!”

Heather Suttie, the Sunday Mail books columnist and founder of Bookface, the online book group which has attracted 2500 members worldwide, said: “I’m thrilled to bits Nikki is joining us, I love this book and can’t wait to hear more about it and the TV series!”

Heather added: “The Bookface events are great for saving money and being sustainable as the swap element is a big hit people who love a great book and guests recycle books and pick up new ones from every genre, perhaps picking up titles they might not otherwise have chosen to read”.

Participants are encouraged to bring four books to participate in the sustainable book swap where there are 400 titles to choose from.

Tickets priced £20 which includes two glasses of Prosecco are on sale via www.eventbrite.co.uk
