The melody of nature is forever changing. In the morning when the darkness and fullness of the night is over, some inspiring freshness comes and there is a different frequency in the whole atmosphere. A morning raga reflects this and has notes that are not emphasised in an evening Raga.
Ghandarva melodies specifically synchronise with the changing frequencies displayed by nature throughout the day, providing a powerful harmonising influence in the atmosphere.
Suhas and Vijay will bring their beautiful renditions of the Indian Ragas to life, harmoniously transporting us to a state of peace with the music of nature.
Suhas started learning the Sarod at the age of 12 from Shri Kaustav Ray. He proceeded to learn for many years from Shri Bidyut Khan in the renowned Maihar Gharana and from Prof. Sanjoy Bandopadhyay. Suhas has played in concerts in India, Netherlands and Scotland.
Vijay Kangutkar is the only full time Hindustani classical musician in Scotland and has made a huge contribution to enlivening Indian Classical music in Scotland. He was fortunate to learn under the great Master Pt. Taranath Rao in Mumbai, over several decades. Vijay taught and performed widely in India, London and for the past 25 years in Glasgow. Vijay has trained several senior Tabla players and the dedication to his art continues to flourish.
