The Welsh choir are one of the oldest in South Wales. During its lifetime the choir has travelled many thousands of miles to entertain the public and has given well over 2500 concerts. They have sung in halls, churches, theatres, cinemas, the streets and even a farmyard.
The Kirkintilloch choir was founded in 1921 and has a membership of over 50. Over the years they have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds for charities and good causes. After this year’s concert a donation will be made to East Dunbartonshire Foodbank.
Both choirs, like many others, have struggled over the last 3 years of Covid restrictions to perform in public and they are excited to at last be able to sing together in front of an audience again.
There will be a varied programme with Scottish and Welsh choral classics, popular songs, as well as some well-known songs from the shows and a World Premier of Ashokan Farewell arranged for Male Voice Choirs by the Kirkintilloch choir’s M.D. Sally McLellan.
Tickets for the concert are priced at £10 and can be purchased by e-mailing tickets_kmvc@hotmail.co.uk , telephoning the choir’s Business Manager on 0141 775 2437 or from Lynsey’s Flowers, Catherine Street, Kirkintilloch
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
