Printmaking Exhibition by Iona Kewney.
A small selection of my first lithography, etching and woodcut prints from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art 30 years ago in Dundee.
These pieces are from 1992 and 1993 during my Fine art printmaking degree of 1991-1995.
The connection printmaking has to drawing, draughtsmanship and writing ideas made me chose this art form as an opportunity to learn ancient skills and techniques that were common practice of masters painters and of new experimentation today.
The combination of printmakings technical methods with it’s planned, layered or chance outcomes is a continual fascination to me and place for possibility.
The element of improvisation and surprise results.
