BBQ School Masterclass! We are delighted to welcome Elky, AKA The Smokin’ Elk to join us at our New Cook School. Elky from Portsmouth will be joining us in Scotland (Auldton Stoves) for the first time to showcase different local dishes cooked over live fire!
The perfect opportunity to cook and drink alongside this fire fanatic mastering your outdoor cooking!
FOOD & DRINK
At Auldton Stoves we try and keep produce as local as possible. We will be using produce from Auldton Farm as much as possible if in season and local farms around us. Below is a sample menu of what type of things to expect. Subject to change.

WHATS INCLUDED
Learn new techniques and recipes with Elky (The Smokin Elk). Hands on cooking experience using the newest season premium grills. Kamado Joe’s, Gozney Pizza Ovens, Traeger Smokers etc. Obviously you will be eating the food you are cooking… with a drink in hand. Ideal for beginners and experts alike who want to immerse themselves in the world of outdoor cooking.
This is a class that you will learn but almost as importantly, you will have fun with some cold beverages of course!
TRAVEL, LOCATION & ACCOMODATION
Live Fire Cook Schools will be happening at our purpose built outdoor Cook School Area located at the Auldton Stoves Showroom. Auldton Stoves Ltd, Auldton Farm, Lugton Road, Dunlop, KA3 4DR (25mins from Glasgow and 25min Ayr). The new Cook School Area offers a covered outdoor patio meaning we will survive the Scottish Weather! We will also have indoor space if required.
For those travelling that want a drink we are accessible via train (Dunlop Station) and bus (Lugton Road). We are within walking distance to Dunlop Station (1.1mi) or can uplift from the station if pre-organised.
If you are travelling from a distance don’t worry. We can organise your stay at our local Country Club and Spa with special rates. Please organise this through our office. 01560 480002. You might even catch a drink with the guest chef!
ABOUT ELKY
Elky has been passionate about BBQ and all things fire for the past 20 years. He believes the same as us at Auldton Stoves that there is nothing better than cooking outside with a beer in hand, fully immersing yourself with smoke, fire and good food. Over the last 5 years we have watched Elky share his passion through channels like Instagram and YouTube however now he is taking it to the next level. Sharing his 20 years of tips, tricks and techniques in person to hopefully ignite the same passion in your outdoor cooking. Elky Cooking Style – Good tasting food that puts a smile on your face. Eat lots, drink lots and learn on the way.
Elky over the years has built up his social media channels to become a well known and respected BBQ Chef worldwide and is one of the UK most recognisable BBQ personalities. This hard work has given Elky the chance to work with and represent some of the best BBQ Brands in the world. He now creates content and acts as a brand ambassador for Kamado Joe as part of their Fire Squad.
