Up A Close is the story of Joanna and her life growing up in a Partick tenement flat.
Joanna is a loving and gentle woman. When her husband goes missing she panics between wanting him home and thinking of her freedom if he stays missing.
She slowly realizes that life has passed her by and starts to relive scenes from her youth to when she was a young 18yr old. Going “up the dancin’” with her pal Ann-Marie Capaldi and listening to the Bay City Rollers. We relive her wonderful relationship with her Auntie Sandra and drunken Saturday night parties when she is always asked to “Gie us Ten Guitars”
Starring Sheila Grier, (Brookside, Taggart, Still Game) Amber Conway, Carolyn Calder and Jamie Hunter Up A Close is directed by Victor Kennedy (The Steamie) and is a must see Scottish show. At a recent sell out run in Glasgow the audience gave comments like “Such depth of emotion, truly superb”, “an outstanding performance”, “absolutely brilliant, very emotional” Make sure you get your tickets for the performance at Websters Theatre now.
