Learn the art of punch needle and how to make your own coasters, rugs and more in this 2-session punch needle tufting workshop run by Glasgow Artist Rachael Bell at Maryhill Open Artspace!
About Punch Needle Rug Tufting
Monday 10th and Wednesday 12th July 6.30- 8.30pm
Ages 10+ welcome
Punch Needle is the art of threading wool through Monks Cloth to make decorative wool pieces such as mug rug coasters, wall hangings, carpets, and rugs. You will learn how to make a punch needle coaster/small rug from start to finish.
During this short course you will:
- learn how to set up your punch needle piece on various frames
- how to use and adjust a punch needle
- how to finish your piece off with fabric backing
You will have a rainbow of yarn available to you!
