Monday 23rd October sees the return of Fresh Comedy @ Blackfriars - a free comedy night in Glasgow’s Merchant City offering new material from some of Scotland’s best comics, plus the freshest new acts on the scene.
This week’s headliner is award-winning Clydebank comedian Stephen Buchanan. Stephen is a well-known face (and voice) to fans of Scottish comedy, with appearances on the likes of The Now Show, Jonathan Ross’ Comedy Club and The Comedy Underground, as well as being one of the co-hosts of the popular Some Laugh podcast. He has had more than his fair share of industry recognition for his talents, having won the prestigious BBC New Comedy Award (the first Scottish comedian to ever take this UK-wide prize) as well as Scottish Comedian of the Year.
- “An absolute joy from start to finish” (The Sunday Post)
- ”The punchlines come thick and fast” (The Skinny)
Our support act this week is Luis Alcada, a Portugal-born, Dundee-based slice of comedic delight. Luis runs the ever popular Icebreaker Comedy in Dundee, and has featured several times on BBC's The Social. 'Superb' (Evening Telegraph).
The evening is hosted by regular compere Roddy Cairns, with a top class support act and short 5-minute sets from some of the best emerging comedy talents on the Glasgow scene.
If that all sounds expensive, it isn’t! Fresh Comedy @ Blackfriars is always absolutely free! See you on Monday 23rd October, 8pm start (doors 7.45pm).
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
