This workshop is online live on zoom and will be recorded for replay to the registered participants. Instructions and the replay links will be shared after the workshop. A zoom link will be sent before the event together with a list of ingredients/equipments.
In this 2 hours workshop suitable for beginners you will discover how to select and prepare leather for botanical printing. You will be guided on the process to create blue prints using the Botanical printing technique and the Cotinus (Smoke bush leaves). we will use a tannin or Cochineal dye as a background. We will learn to finish the leather after compliting the printing.
After the workshop you will be admitted in the Facebook group to post your own prints and interact with other participants.
To take part you will need access to Cotinus "Smoke bush" leaves of the red variety although this technique will work with other leaves.
The True Colour of the Cotinus is a Botanical Printing project using the Cotinus (Smoke bush) leaves to get blue prints. Initiated during the first months of the Covid crisis it has reached over 700 participants today have used this method and some learned to print with it.
