Birds cry, bells toll and thrilling new worlds emerge, as we descend to the atmospheric lower church for this unmissable late-evening event. Part of Glasgow Cathedral Festival's sell-out 'Twilight in the Crypt' series, Columbian-American soprano Stephanie Lamprea is joined by sound artist Alistair MacDonald, integrating the human voice with avant-garde electronics in an examination of humanity’s complex relationship with historical environments and nature.
Featuring cutting-edge works by some of Scotland’s most exciting voices in contemporary music, this event includes Katrin Klose’s powerful evocation of physical exhaustion in 'The Wall', alongside the world premieres of three newly commissioned pieces: Robert Laidlow’s AI-generated creation myths, a song for humans and nature by Lisa Robertson, and a site-specific work by Alistair MacDonald, immersing you in mystical visions with sonorous tones inspired by the cathedral’s bell.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
