We present three brand new 15-minute plays created by writers from Partick and beyond. Afterwards, we invite you to join us for drinks and creative conversations – a chance to meet the writers and performers, and join our growing theatrical community.
Lineup TBC.
HOW THE NIGHT WORKS
After a brief introduction, we’ll present 3 short plays for a script-in-hand reading. The actors will be reading from their scripts on stage, and the plays will have only been lightly rehearsed – so we’re seeing these pieces in their rawest form.
After each play we’ll introduce the playwright on stage and have a short discussion, which you can get involved in too – this is a great opportunity to help writers improve their work and give them lots of encouragement!
There will be a short interval (10 mins approx) after the first two plays – a chance to grab another drink! – and we’ll return for the final play.
Afterwards, at around 10.15ish, join us downstairs in the bar for a friendly chat and to congratulate our actors and writers.
A NOTE ON FILMING
The entire night will be filmed and posted for free on YouTube. This has several benefits – it means people who can’t attend in person are able to check out the plays, and it allows our volunteering actors to get material for their showreel.
If you would prefer not to be filmed for any reason, please mention this to us when you arrive at the event and we will blur you out.
We are keen to make theatre more accessible for everyone. For this reason, the scratch night will be filmed and made available on YouTube. By attending you agree you are happy to be recorded.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
