On Wednesday 15th January it’s the return of Blackfriars’s weekly Wednesday comedy night, Just One More Laugh. Curated by Darren Connell, we’re kicking off 2025 in style with legendary headline act Gary Little, hosting from the phenomenal Raymond Mearns, and an opening set from rapid rising star Patrick Linton.

A true Scottish comedy OG, Gary Little is recognised as a master storyteller and one of Scottish comedy’s most consistently funny acts. A frequent headliner at many of the top comedy clubs in the UK, Gary regularly sells out his Edinburgh Fringe and Glasgow Comedy Festival Shows. He recently was the subject of a hit four-part radio series about his life and comedy.
“Some of the best stand up I’ve seen” - Kevin Bridges
“A f***ing riot” – Bill Burr
“This man is a born raconteur” - The Scotsman
"Runs rings around his peers" - Herald
"All you'll remember is how much you laughed" – Chortle

Raymond Mearns is one of the UK’s busiest and most respected circuit comics. Described by Frankie Boyle as ‘a genuine improvisational genius’, he has gained recognition as one of the most consistently hilarious comedians in the land. Balancing his comedy career with film and TV, he has had roles in Rab C Nesbitt, Limmy’s Show and BBC Scotland’s Breaking The News. He also presents the hit podcast ‘Glesga Da’ with fellow comedian Stuart Mitchell.
“Exceptionally funny and cathartic” – The Scotsman
“A level of consistency few can match” – Edinburgh Evening News
“A man who knows how to swear properly” – Billy Connolly
“Every line that issues from this man is funny” – Chortle
“A personality so huge it fills the room” – The List

Patrick Linton is a rapid rising star in Scottish comedy from Blackhill in Glasgow. Paddy mixes storytelling from his working class upbringing with observations about Glasgow’s leafier suburbs. His impressive stand-up skills have fast become highly in demand at some of the best comedy shows in the country.
"He went up and smashed it... it was genuinely exciting watching him from the back and it made me remember why I love this." - Darren Connell
“Instantly likeable and effortlessly funny.” – Comedy Dundee
“Got people on side immediately” – The Stand

Plus shorter sets from Matt MacDonald and Scout Robertson, with loads more surprises to be announced.

Hosted in Glasgows OG Comedy Club....Blackfriars Basement (Blackfriars of Bell St., 36 Bell Street, Glasgow G1 1LG)

Entry is £4, pre-booking is available on Skiddle.
