MAMA TERRA is the new Scottish Jazz/Soul ensemble from the minds of Marco Cafolla (keys/piano) & Konrad Wisniewski (saxophone). Drawing from an inner journey of discovery, their upcoming album on the legendary Acid Jazz Records is a Jazz/Soul roots based record with influences from John Coltrane, Nina Simone, McCoy Tyner, Miles Davis to Kamasi Washington, Erykah Badu and Robert Glasper. They have already been championed by Jazz FM (playlisting debut single ‘Ruptura’ for six consecutive weeks and counting) and BBC Radio Scotland, all of which lead to Mama Terra signing with Acid Jazz.
Mama Terra recreate songs from the classic album ‘Head Hunters’ by Herbie Hancock, in their own sound, that they first performed live to great acclaim for Jazz FM as part of their classic album series to celebrate the album turning 50 years old. This is accompanied by a set of Mama Terra’s original music from their debut album ‘The Summoned’.
Where possible we will update our listings to notify of cancelled, postponed and rescheduled events, however we STRONGLY ADVISE that you check with the venue/organiser in the first instance for updates.
