Inverclyde Voices is an adult choir based in Inverclyde on the west coast of Scotland and was founded by Palma Allan MBE in September 2005 to allow senior pupils who wanted to continue singing after leaving the Inverclyde Schools’ Junior and Senior Choirs having enjoyed up to eight years vocal training through the Inverclyde Choral Development Programme. Many parents and friends also joined the choir and we currently have over 100 members who come together every Monday evening to make music together. One of the many benefits of singing in a large choir is the strong sense of friendship and community which is evident at our rehearsals and social events held throughout the year.
The aim of Inverclyde Voices has always been to sing together and bring simple but uplifting repertoire to people from all walks of life. As well as our concerts each session, we hold a choral weekend for our members every September and a “Come and Sing Day” each year to allow people to experience the joys of choral singing without committing to weekly rehearsals. We also participate in the Inverclyde Music Festival each year supporting their celebration of musical talent. We are keen to support local and national charities and we are looking forward to celebrating our 20th Anniversary in 2025. As we approach our 20th anniversary year, please come and join us for our summer concert featuring everything from Mozart to Coldplay and many of your old favourites too. We can't wait to share our music with you in the wonderful venue of St Andrew's Metropolitan Cathedral.
