Ever wondered what it takes to be an investigative journalist? Ever thought something demanded further scrutiny but didn’t know where to start? If the answer is yes, then the Centre for Investigative Journalism’s free day-long event is for you.
We are offering practical workshops in investigative skills: an introduction to finding company information, open-source investigations and understanding supply chains.
Martin Tomkinson will talk about his career working as a financial reporter and intrepid investigative journalist, and offer pearls of wisdom and tips for budding investigative journalists along the way
Sarah Cammarata will show how journalists can reveal valuable insights into a person’s identity by examining digital footprints
Maxence Peigné will explain how to use open-source material to investigate companies
Tansy Hoskins looks at supply-chains and the process of tracking commodity flows through sources and shipping records
Our keynote speaker Imogen Barrer is a multi-award winning journalist and the Head of Investigations & Special Projects at ITV News
Open to everyone and completely free
