When the winds of change blow normal life changes, this thoughtful, light-hearted, and moving play explores what happens when an unexpected storm hits everyday family life. It's uplifting, funny, and peppered with musical interludes.
Winds of Change is a play that follows the story of a Glasgow family of four — a mother, father, and two teenage children — whose lives are upended by the father’s sudden diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. This heartfelt production seeks to shed light on the often misdiagnosed and misunderstood disease, which claims lives at an alarming rate due to late detection.
The play is written and directed by TRAM Direct's Isobel Barrett who lost her husband to pancreatic cancer within just three weeks of diagnosis. Inspired by her personal experience, she has dedicated herself to raising awareness through her work. In preparation for ‘Winds of Change’, Isobel conducted extensive research, interviewing medical professionals, survivors, and families affected by pancreatic cancer. Her unique insight gives the play a personal and emotional depth that resonates with audiences.
Pancreatic Cancer Action is supporting the performance.
The performance will be free to attend, with donations collected going directly to Pancreatic Cancer Action. All funds raised will be used to support research towards the early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.
