The Bluster Boy are stories by Davey about his career over the past 30 years from the times he spent with his sister Annie Mac, supporting The Stereophonics in front of 55,000 people at Morfa Stadium to touring Stadiums with Snow Patrol and Billy Corgan. To then giving it all up to pursue a career as a nurse in Africa.
This year Davey has sold out venues across the UK with the mixture of tracks from his back catalogue of Crockets and Crimea songs to well received renditions of his new material. Having learnt how to play the piano Davey puts a new twist on some of his classic material as well as songs from his new forthcoming album.
2024 marks 30 years since the release of MacManus first solo album 1994s ‘Stuff your cherry pie’. Recorded in the old Malthouse studios by Meic Knox-Thomas. The album is being re-released this summer along with a brand new solo album ‘Even the trees know Karate”. The opening track ‘Disneyland’ available on YouTube.
Macmanus is playing a string of shows this Winter. Starting with ‘Blue dog’ – the first song he ever wrote – Davey Macmanus will play songs of the Crocketts and the Crimea – along with his solo material.
