Glasgow's history with slavery is complex, and includes both the city's role as a perpetrator and its participation in the abolition movement.
Glasgow benefited from the slave trade and plantation slavery, and the city's built heritage bears witness to this history.
This years speakers include:
Professor Gerry Carruthers: 'Thomas Muir and Slavery'
Dr Iain Whyte: 'Scotland and the Abolition of Slavery'
Dr Stephen Mullen: 'Glasgow's Pro-Slave Trade and Pro-Slavery Movements'
